On September 19, 2023, UNESCO inscribed the Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks to the World Heritage List. This includes 5 sites in Ross County, 2 sites in Licking County, and one site in Warren County.

ADENA MANSION & GARDENS

Adena was the 2000-acre estate of Thomas Worthington (1773-1827), sixth governor of Ohio and one of the state’s first United States Senators. The house is one of only three houses designed by Benjamin Henry Latrobe still standing in the country.

A group of artists, preservationists, and an attorney formed a coalition to restore and preserve the building. The rooms were transformed into a beautiful art gallery where works could be displayed and gift shop to support the organization.
